We all want to become more Christ-like in who we are and what we do as individuals as well as communities. We know the reality of the Kingdom of God and want to smell and taste that reality in our lives and churches. This is where the New Rose becomes so important for those of us who have already experienced the shifts of the new wind of the Spirit and feel the restlessness in articulating the new holiness.
As Phyllis Tickle so wonderfully puts, "the new holiness... the new reformation... the new righteousness is where all the quadrants of the Rose merge together to make the melody of God harmonious." I find it interesting that the root word for harmonious comes from the Greek word nomos (the law). The law of Christ is to liberate not to incarcerate... Day by day I am learning to embrace all the quadrants to truly live my life for the sake of the Kingdom and to proclaim that Jesus is the real thing!
You are invited to watch Phyllis Tickle explain the New Rose in this video link and refer to the graphic for reflection. The graphic design you see above is my own interpretation of the New Christian Rose. Orthoparadoxy is simply balancing the right action with the right practice while learning to live within its paradox.
